Among the Watches and Wonders 2024 novelties, the Reflection de Cartier model with its avant-garde design caught the eye.
During the Watches and Wonders 2024, Professor Brian Cox gave a speech during a keynote and he stated that time passes differently for each of us. So, if time passes in different way for humans, should the dials have designed in the same part of watches? I think, it shouldn’t. So much so that, Cartier introduced a new watch that has a dial in unusual part of watch: Reflection de Cartier.
Reflection de Cartier hides a dial set into the end of a thick bracelet in yellow, pink and white gold cases. The other end of the bracelet facing the dial is designed in polished gold. Thus, time is reflected on the other side and can be read on the dial as well as seen through this gold surface. However, in this reflection, time seems to flow backwards.
Reflections are also played with on the bracelet of the watch that explores the mystery of time through refractions. Marie- Laure Cérède, Creative Director of Cartier Jewelry and Watchmaking, says that the model is “neither a watch nor a piece of jewelry, but a completely new Cartier creation”.
The watches that caught the eye at the fair are designed in cases with a diameter of 18.4 x 17.5 mm. The dial appearance is a classic Cartier dial with Roman numerals. The dial of one of the white gold models in the series is set with diamonds, and the bracelet is also decorated with diamonds.
