While the fashion weeks continues with out slowing down, now we are going to capital of fashion, Paris, after digital presentations, the cosmopolitan hustle and bustle of New York, and of course iconic looks that already engraved in our mind. Here are the most highlight looks of the Paris Fashion Week.
Christian Dior
Since Maria Grazia Chiuri arrived at Dior, she has always tried to keep her feminist and activist attitude at the forefront while designing. On the other hand, she has not neglect to blend Dior’s legacy with these futuristic notions. This time, Chiuri makes this combination with emphasis on the idea that there is no strong engagement with technology and fashion, that’s why, her fashion show opens with a model whose body is covered by cables.
Koché
Christelle Kocher, the name behind Koché, creates her collections with a motivation to transfer this energy and enthusiasm to her collection while the whole world return to its sparkling days after the pandemic crisis. Kocher says, “Life is generally very dark during these days, but the fashion industry is the best tool to bring light to this darkness.” She also adds that this glow remains by holding her fashion shows at the Westin Hotel, which is frequently preferred by Yves Saint Laurent for Couture fashion shows.
Vaquera
Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee, who founded the brand, describe Vaquera as “Fashion fan fiction”. On the one hand, this word shows the fun and colorful side of the brand and also tells how the fashion industry has an evolving concept. Vaquera managed to combine street style with high trends in this journey from Dover Street Market to Paris catwalks. All in all, couture perspective harmonies with casual street style.
Off-White
The success of Off-White and Louis Vuitton men’s collection, the Off-White Autumn / Winter collection exhibited after the death of Virgil Abloh was a tribute to Abloh and his latest designs. There are feelings of Spaceship Earth concept created by the late Abloh in the show where many famous names from the fashion industry to the music industry attended this moment of silence. During the night, couture-looking and yet comfortable pieces were exhibited on the podium, on the one hand, Abloh’s words were echoed both in the collection and the fashion show area.
Saint Laurent
The influence of Saint Laurent fashion show has been seen on the streets of Paris with the inspiration of the 90s and the silhouettes floating between couture and underwear. Anthony Vaccarello’s podium hosted a runway show housed sheer satin dresses and catwalks overlooked by Eiffel Tower. Keeping the color scale narrow, the designer had preferred to play with forms; the splendid designs referred to the looks of the 80s. Has reflecting the spirit of Paris streets, Saint Laurent maintained its stance in the new season as well.
