Omega Seamaster Diver 300m 007 Edition
“No Time To Die,” the 25th James Bond movie, hit theaters on October 1. We take a closer look at the watch that James Bond wears in the movie and Daniel Craig personally contributed to its design.
“He is Bond, James Bond”: James Bond, created by Ian Fleming in 1953 and made world history as the most famous British agent of all time, since it was screened only nine years later… Since then, all the details in his life, from the car he drives to his suitcase, have become classics. Furthermore, James Bond has been wearing Omega watches for 25 years. So, the 25th James Bond movie, “No Time To Die” is also the 25th anniversary of the Omega and James Bond collaboration.
On the one hand, Omega, one of the most distinguished brands of Swiss watchmaking, and on the other hand, the most famous agent in the history of cinema: the collaboration of these two, which started with the 1995 production “Golden Eye”, has been so successful that it has continued for years with a great synergy. Now, Omega and James Bond are celebrating the 25th anniversary of this collaboration with the Omega Seamaster 300M 007 Edition, perhaps the most stylish Bond watch of all time.
Daniel Craig also contributed to its design
We also see the traces of Daniel Craig, one of the most charismatic James Bonds of the silver screen, in the design of the watch. Craig, who is also a big watch collector, and the makers decided that the watch on James Bond’s wrist should be light, so Grade 2 titanium, which we saw in the Speedmaster Apollo 11 45th anniversary watch, is used in this new 42 mm watch. In order to further reduce the weight of the watch, “tropical” brown aluminum is used on the dial and bezel, while the bezel dive scale and the darkened hour, minute hands and Super-Luminova on the dials preserve the classic look of the dive watch.
Meaning of the Codes on the Back of the Watch
When we come to the case back, there are a series of numbers like in real military wristwatches: While “0552” is the code number used to identify navy personnel, “923 7697” is used as the diver’s watch number. The letter A” is a code used to designate a wristwatch with a screw-down crown; “007” is James Bond’s iconic agent number, as you know. As a final touch, the number “62” on the case back symbolizes the year of the first James Bond movie. This new watch is finished with a Naiad Lock case back that keeps all the engravings aligned.
An Iconic Dive Watch for the World-Famous Agent
As we move deeper into the watch in this James Bond adventure, we see the brand’s signature, George Daniels-invented Co-Axial escapement, and the OMEGA 8806. This movement, which has the highest standards of precision, chronometric performance and magnetic resistance in its class, has an anti-magnetic effect reaching 15 gauss. With its 55-hour power reserve, the timepiece manages to become one of the iconic diving watches of the watchmaking world.
Perfect for a secret agent, the titanium case of the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition is scratch-sensitive. The 007 Edition is ready for its next mission with its Super-Luminova filling, non-reflective sapphire crystal glass, unidirectional bezel, water resistance up to 300 meters and helium valve!
Retro Style Bracelet
The more classic-looking watch idea from Daniel Craig is reinforced with a mesh bracelet with a titanium adjustable clasp. The model, which has NATO straps in dark brown, gray and beige colors as an option on the bracelet, is engraved with the number 007 on the buckle and lugs. The watch comes with a special brown fabric case with the number 007 embroidered.
