The most visible expression of this approach lies in the use of gemstones. Moving beyond the conventions of classical jewelry, the maison has long combined diverse stones within a single composition. This sense of freedom is equally present in Eclettica. Sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds are paired with onyx, amethyst, and a variety of cutting techniques. Color here is not merely decorative; it is the very language that constructs the composition.

The cut, placement, and relationships between the stones create an almost painterly effect. Many pieces in the collection are therefore perceived less as jewelry and more as compositions worn on the body.

The Power of Movement

One of the collection’s strongest aspects is its transformation of jewelry from a static object into a dynamic form. Modular structures composed of hundreds of elements are designed to move fluidly with the body. This technical approach nearly dissolves the boundary between jewelry and sculpture.

In some designs, negative space suggests form through absence, while in others, volume is deliberately emphasized. This contrast reinforces the collection’s sculptural identity. Bringing together over 150 high jewelry creations, Eclettica conveys a powerful sense of density, with more than 50 masterpieces at its core—marking one of the most extensive selections ever presented by a jewelry house.

At the heart of the collection lies a group of nine exceptional creations under the title Capolavori, meaning “masterpieces” in Italian. These pieces not only highlight the quality of their gemstones but also make visible the pinnacle of engineering, craftsmanship, and composition.

Creative Director Lucia Silvestri describes this approach as follows: “When I try to define Bvlgari in a few words, ‘eclectic’ is always one of them. Our creative process draws its energy from diversity and contrast. While designing Eclettica, I was guided by captivating imagery, bold volumes, and the elegance of architecture. Each creation represents a harmony born from multiplicity.”

Beyond Jewelry

This collection stands as a natural extension of the design language the maison has cultivated over time. The inspiration drawn from Rome, the bold use of color, and the sculptural approach are now elevated to a more refined and assertive level. What emerges is difficult to define as high jewelry alone. It is a layered aesthetic narrative shaped at the intersection of disciplines—where high jewelry becomes not an accessory, but a composed and deliberate expression.
