Euroluce 2025: The Return of Light
Euroluce 2025, one of the most prestigious lighting design fairs, delivered an inspiring experience.

As a key component of the Salone del Mobile, Euroluce made its much-anticipated return in 2025 following the acclaimed The City of Light edition in 2023. With over 300 participants—half from abroad—the fair once again affirmed its status as a global benchmark in lighting design.
This year, Euroluce placed a spotlight on contemporary themes such as innovation, sustainability, artificial intelligence integration, and biophilic design, once again underscoring the vital role light plays in shaping both our spaces and our lives.

A standout feature of this year’s fair was the Euroluce International Lighting Forum, held at Rho-Fiera. Curated by Annalisa Rosso in collaboration with the Italian Association of Lighting Designers (APIL), the Forum embraced the theme “Light for Life. Light for Spaces.” It hosted more than 20 international speakers, including architects, designers, artists, scientists, and anthropologists who shared their diverse perspectives on light. Masterclasses and workshops explored light not only as a technical medium but also as an emotional and human-centered element.

The forum took place within the Forest of Space Arena, an installation designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. Constructed from natural pine logs, this poetic structure—rooted in a biophilic design approach—created a harmonious dialogue between nature and architecture.

Day one, themed “Light for Life,” focused on how light impacts biological rhythms, mental health, and overall quality of life. Notable speakers included Marjan van Aubel, known for merging solar energy with design; Robert Wilson, a pioneer in contemporary art and theater; Stefano Mancuso, an expert in plant neurobiology; and Patrick Rimoux, the lighting designer behind the newly illuminated Notre Dame in Paris. A roundtable featuring Rogier van der Heide and Manuel Spitschan delved into human-centric lighting, health, and chronobiology.
