The Tesla Model Y Juniper is set to hit the roads as a facelifted version of the brand’s compact electric SUV. This updated model boasts improved aerodynamics, extended range, and enhanced features.
“Don’t Change a Winning Formula—Improve It.” Staying true to this philosophy, Tesla has refreshed the Model Y after seven years of production, introducing the Model Y Juniper with design elements reminiscent of the Cybercab and Cybertruck.

A full-width lighting strip, similar to the one on the front, now appears in the rear as well. The hood, fenders, and bumper have all been redesigned, while the side profile remains largely unchanged except for new wheel covers. At the rear, the spoiler on the trunk lid has been enlarged, and the license plate has been relocated from the trunk lid to the bumper.

Enhanced Acoustics with Thicker Windows

While the overall design remains familiar, the Model Y facelift introduces a new two-piece headlight layout with a continuous light strip. Many expected more radical changes after seven years, but Tesla has opted to refine its already well-engineered platform in more subtle, performance-oriented ways.

One such improvement is enhanced acoustic insulation, thanks to thicker windows. Tesla has also fine-tuned the suspension, making it softer to provide a more comfortable ride. Additionally, changes to the wheels contribute to overall noise reduction and driving comfort.
Upgraded Features and Equipment

Tesla, known for offering a standardized vehicle across global markets, has introduced several long-awaited features in the Model Y Juniper. A new front bumper camera has been added, and the interior sees a wealth of upgrades, including cooled front seats, larger headrests, ambient lighting, a 15.4-inch multimedia display, power-folding rear seats, hands-free tailgate operation, an 8-inch rear screen and an electrically operated “Frunk” front trunk lid.

Software and Connectivity Enhancements
As a pioneer in automotive connectivity, Tesla continues to push boundaries in this area. The Model Y Juniper features an upgraded modem, delivering improved connection speeds to keep up with the brand’s constantly evolving software ecosystem.

Interior Refinements
Tesla has also addressed one of its frequent criticisms—interior quality. The Juniper variant features upgraded materials in the door panels and cockpit, as well as improved finishes on storage compartment covers. The addition of ambient lighting enhances the cabin ambiance, especially during nighttime drives. Moreover, the touch-sensitive turn signal button, previously a point of contention, has been replaced with a more intuitive lever.

Aerodynamic Gains, Extended Range
Despite its robust stance, aerodynamic refinements have reduced the Model Y Juniper’s drag coefficient to 0.22 Cd. Coupled with a new 62.5 kW CATL battery (up from 60 kW), these improvements yield a 4-5% increase in range.

The long-range version, equipped with an LG-produced 78.4 kW battery, offers even greater performance. The 384 hp variant now accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, down from 4.8 seconds.

Arrival in Turkey
Model Y units sold in Turkey are produced at Tesla’s Giga Factory in Berlin. With the Juniper update, Model Y orders in Turkey were temporarily suspended, but Tesla is preparing to reopen orders for the facelifted version soon.
