Louis Erard has collaborated with independent watchmaker Vianney Halter to create a new model.
French watchmaker Vianney Halter has been designing extraordinary timepieces since he introduced his first model at the Basel Fair in 1998. Inspired by astronomy and science fiction, one of the most series of Halter is the avant-garde designed Antiqua. Pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking in his creations, the French watchmaker had previously collaborated with Louis Erard in recent years. This year, the duo reunited to announce the Régulateur Louis Erard x Vianney Halter Chapter II model.
The new Régulateur Louis Erard x Vianney Halter Chapter II series, inspired by Vianney Halter’s Antiqua model, features two different timepieces. Both models are limited to 178 pieces. The watches are designed in a 43 mm diameter stainless steel case. The bezel, in harmony with the case, is adorned with 12 red-gilded rivets. The same rivets are also used in the design of the winding crown at the 2 o’clock position.
The dial features two sub dials that display the hours and seconds separately. The sub dial for the hours is placed in the upper left corner, whilst the sub dial for the seconds is positioned towards the 5 o’clock mark. Both subdials are designed in different sizes, offering an asymmetric aesthetic. The minutes are tracked by the central minute hand on the main dial. One of the models features a rhodium-plated dial base, with rings containing numerals and a minute circle on the sub dial, all presented in red gold gilding. In the other model, the main dial plate is designed with red gold gilding, while the other details are finished in rhodium plating.
Both models are powered by the caliber Sellita SW266-1. The movement has a 38-hour power reserve, and the balance spring is adorned with the Louis Erard symbol. This part of the movement is partially showcased through the transparent case back.
