Bulgari introduced the new Octo Finissimo x Laurent Grasso Edition.
There are many details that enhance the pleasure of wearing a watch and following the time on its dial. For me, undoubtedly watches that feature famous artworks or are inspired by art and developed in collaboration with artists at the top of the list for the visual enjoyment they provide. Bulgari‘s Octo Finissimo x Laurent Grasso, designed in collaboration with the Italian artist Laurent Grasso, is one such timepiece. The cloud design on its dial, which transitions into shades of purple and blue, evokes the purple and pink sunset sky that appears when the sun sets on a summer evening and meets the clouds.
Now, let’s turn our attention to this blue watch with a cloud dial. The Octo Finissimo is one of the collections in which the brand has collaborated with various artists over the years. The latest guest in this series is conceptual artist Laurent Grasso. Known for creating art influenced by paranormal concepts, Grasso’s touch is evident on the Octo Finissimo’s dial, where we see a cloud design. For this dial, the artist has designed a cloud that creates rainbow-like reflections. For Grasso, clouds, suspended between the sky and the earth, are one of the most important symbols of dreams. The design incorporates metallic pigments to create the cloud effect. In addition to the cloud design, the dial only features the hands, keeping the focus on the artistic element.
The watch is designed in a deep blue hue, with a 40mm titanium case, dial, and bracelet all coated with a matte blue PVD finish.
On the back of the watch case, we find the in-house movement, the ultra-thin Caliber BVL 138, which offers a 60-hour power reserve. The case back, which allows the movement to be visible, also features the artist’s signature.
As the brand describes it, this mysterious deep blue dial watch is limited to just 200 pieces. It is delivered in a special blue box signed by Laurent Grasso.
