Swatch x Blancpain Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms

The Swatch x Blancpain Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms collection, produced in collaboration with Swatch and Blancpain, was announced.

After the mysterious full-page advertisements published in newspapers such as The New York Times and The Washington Post last week, the mystery was revealed over the weekend and Swatch announced a collaboration with Blancpain. The models, which were announced to go on sale on September 9, were introduced today. As predicted, in the new collection, the Fifty Fathoms series, of which Blancpain celebrated its 70th anniversary this year, took the form of Swatch. Swatch x Blancpain Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms collection consists of five different models.

Antarctic Ocean

Blancpain produced various anniversary models this year for the Fifty Fathoms series, which was first announced in 1953. With Swatch’s involvement in the anniversary celebrations of Fifty Fathoms, one of the oldest diving watches, the possibility of owning this cult model at an affordable price has increased for watch lovers. The price of Swatch x Blancpain Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms, which will be sold only in Swatch stores, is 400 US dollars.

Arctic Ocean

Produced in 5 different colors, referencing the world’s oceans, the appearance of Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms is a classic Fifty Fathoms. Watch cases in blue, green, yellow, orange and gray colors are in Swatch’s bioceramic case; with a diameter of 42.3 mm, it is similar in size to the Fifty Fathoms collection, which was introduced for the anniversary celebrations last month. Designed in color tones from the edges to the middle, there are Blancpain and Swatch logos on the top of the dials, and Scuba and Fifty Fathoms phrases listed below the hour and minute hands. The hands, numerals and bezel scale also have the classic Fifty Fathoms look. The models are completed with fabric NATO straps that match the dial and case colors.

Blancpain, which boasts that it has never used a quartz movement since 1735, has kept its tradition and used an automatic movement in this collection. Swatch’s automatic movement Sistem51 brings the watches to life. The movement, which has a 90-hour power reserve, is visible through the open case back. All bridges of the mechanism feature ocean illustrations, and the rotor features a sea rabbit illustration via digital printing. The international sales price of the collection, which will go on sale on September 9, is 400 US dollars.

Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms is not a limited series like MoonsSwatch. However, it will only be available in Swatch stores.
