One of the most talked-about filmmakers of recent years, Christopher Nolan has teamed up with Hamilton to create a limited-edition watch inspired by his latest blockbuster, The Odyssey: the Khaki Field Auto The Odyssey.
Hamilton has long been one of the watch brands most closely associated with the world of cinema. Over the years, its timepieces have appeared on screen in countless productions, while several bespoke models have been created specifically for major films. Among the brand’s most celebrated creative partnerships is its ongoing collaboration with Christopher Nolan. Following watches developed for Interstellar, Tenet and Oppenheimer, the acclaimed director and the Swiss watchmaker have reunited once again.

Since its theatrical release, Nolan’s latest film, The Odyssey, has become one of the defining cinematic events of the year, attracting widespread attention for both its ambitious storytelling and groundbreaking filmmaking techniques. Based on Homer’s epic poem of the same name, The Odyssey unfolds in an era long before the invention of mechanical timekeeping. Naturally, no wristwatch appears in the film itself. Instead, Hamilton has chosen to honor its world with a timepiece inspired by its mythology.

Working closely with Hamilton, Nolan drew upon the film’s symbols, materials and mythological imagery to shape the design. The primary inspirations are Odysseus’ helmet and sword, with subtle references woven throughout the watch, from the dial to the case. The bronze case, for example, pays tribute to the Bronze Age, the historical setting of the story. Measuring 42 mm in diameter, it is based on Hamilton’s Khaki Field Automatic, while a lightweight titanium caseback has been incorporated to enhance wearing comfort. The reverse of the watch is engraved with Odysseus’ helmet alongside Christopher Nolan’s signature.
