Classics, Art Deco influences, complications and the legend of James Bond… Discover the best watches of the week.
Following a first week of October marked by new Patek Philippe releases and Milan Watch Week, the second week of the month brought another round of noteworthy launches. Omega brought the world of Spectre to its James Bond-inspired timepieces for the first time, while H. Moser & Cie. unveiled three distinct interpretations of the same complication. Seiko’s playful new panda dials and Hamilton’s vintage-inspired creations were also among the week’s most talked-about releases.

Omega Seamaster Diver 300M James Bond
Having accompanied the James Bond franchise for more than three decades, Omega now brings the world of Spectre into its watchmaking universe with a new Seamaster Diver 300M collection. The 42 mm timepieces feature an octopus motif on the caseback, a reference to the shadowy organisation at the heart of the film. Alongside the stainless steel model, the collection includes special sets featuring white-gold accents, accompanied by accessories such as cufflinks and bracelets.

Hamilton American Classic Cushion Mechanical
Among the week’s most compelling releases is Hamilton’s American Classic Cushion Mechanical, a timepiece that draws on the charm of vintage watchmaking. Inspired by the Cushion Plain and Cushion Engraved models produced by the brand in the 1920s, the new watches stand out for their distinctive case designs. The stainless steel version features an engraved case paired with a silver-toned dial, while the yellow-gold model is complemented by a beige dial. Available in two case sizes, 30 mm and 34 mm, the watches are powered by the H-42 calibre, offering a 57-hour power reserve.

H. Moser & Cie. Retrograde Seconds
Under the tagline “One complication. Three personalities,” H. Moser & Cie. has introduced three new timepieces powered by the HMC 251 and HMC 252 calibres, both evolved versions of the HMC 250. In each model, the small seconds hand completes a 30-second sweep before instantly returning to its starting position, creating a captivating mechanical spectacle every half-minute. The movement of the hand can be observed through an aperture positioned towards 6 o’clock.

The three new models are the Pioneer Skeleton Retrograde Seconds, Streamliner Retrograde Seconds and Endeavour Retrograde Seconds. While the Pioneer Skeleton Retrograde Seconds reveals its mechanics through an openworked dial, the other two models feature fumé dials in blue and darker tones. All three are presented in 40 mm stainless steel cases.
Seiko Power Design Project “Panda” Chronograph
Seiko has offered one of the most literal interpretations of the panda dial yet. With its new Power Design Project “Panda” Chronograph, the Japanese watchmaker has positioned the chronograph pushers at the top of the case to resemble a panda’s ears. Two black subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock evoke the animal’s eyes, while a playful depiction of its nose and mouth appears towards 6 o’clock.

Housed in a 43 mm stainless steel case, the watch is available with either a white or pink dial. The white version is limited to 3,000 pieces, while the pink edition will be produced in a run of 2,000.
