We have talked with Jean-Christophe Babin about haute horology and Geneva Watch Days novelties.
Bvlgari unveiled creative and charming watches at Geneva Watch Days. Could you tell us about novelties?
We unveiled some truly exciting novelties that highlight our continuous innovation in watchmaking. One of the standout collections is the Serpenti Pallini High-Jewellery series. These timepieces are a blend of high jewelry and advanced horology, powered by our Piccolissimo movement, which is the smallest round mechanical movement we’ve ever created. The intricate design includes serpent-shaped bracelets adorned with diamonds and emeralds, making these watches not only technically impressive but also visually stunning. We also launched an exciting collaboration with Fender to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Stratocaster guitar. The Bvlgari Aluminium GMT x Fender Limited Edition draws inspiration from the guitar’s iconic sunburst design and creamy white hues. This partnership marries the worlds of music and luxury, and the first 70 buyers will receive a custom Fender Stratocaster, making it a unique collector’s item. Additionally, we introduced new models in our Octo Roma series, which this year focuses on sound. In collaboration with conductor Lorenzo Viotti, these watches incorporate musical elements, such as tritone intervals in their chiming mechanisms. It’s a sophisticated fusion of sound and timekeeping, emphasizing Bvlgari’s artistic approach to watchmaking. We launched something unique with a new melody. This is the first time a melody has differed from the historic Westminster melody, which dates from the 18th century. At Bvlgari, our vision is to merge creativity, craftsmanship, and emotion, whether through luxurious, gem-set watches or bold partnerships like the one with Fender. We’re always pushing the boundaries of what a watch can be, blending heritage with modern innovation.

Over the years, GWD has grown to become a significant event in the horological calendar, particularly in its role as
