At Watches and Wonders 2022, Cartier introduced its novelties from cult collections like Tank and Pasha, as well as its new limited series Masse Mystérieuse.

The Prince of Wales, Edward VII. said, “Cartier, the jeweller of the kings and the king of jeweller”, which is a quotation that wholly describe the French atelier, Cartier. For instance, it is said that Cartier produced its first waterproof watch when Pasha Thami El Glaouis asked French watchmaker to create a waterproof watch for him to wear while swimming, in the 1930s. And thus, the famous Pasha series began to be produced. (But today, Pasha watches are quite different from the original, actually, we can say that modern models are more like the Pasha watches that introduced in 1985.) Of course, there is much to talk about other collections introduced within the scope of Watches and Wonders 2022 but let us begin with a model whose store is written these days Masse Mysterieuse.

Cartier Masse Mystérieuse

The Masse Mystérieuse is a mysterious watch just like its name and other mysterious watches of the brand.  The platinum case is in 43 mm diameter and 12.64 height, which is a kind of bold watch. As Cartier classic, a cabochon-cut ruby stone adorns the crown of the watch. Dial features the hour, minute and Roma numerals. The movement can be seen on the left side of white dial, where the mystery begins. Masse Mystérieuse runs with the in-house caliber 9801 MC. Although movement seem like a hand-wound semicircular mechanism at first glance, the movement is actually an automatic rotor. While the hour and minute axles are stationary in the center of the dial, all the remaining parts are placed inside the rotor. It took about 8 years to develop the whole system and place the parts in the rotor mechanism. The movement runs at frequency of 28,000 VpH and offer 42 hours of power reserve.

Cartier Tank

Cartier introduced the Tank Must and Tank Louis Cartier models from its cult Tank collection. Presented in three different references, Tank Must models be with black lacquered dials that create stylish sense of depth. Two of these models are in stainless steel cases with diameters of 22 mm and 25.5 mm, and the third reference is in 18-carat gold case. The watches with steel case are in Quartz, yet gold cases feature the caliber 1917 MC.
