Zenith added a new chronograph to its Defy Skyline series at Watches and Wonders 2024.
The Defy collection, which takes its name from “Defi” pocket watches that Zenith produced in 1902, was introduced in the late 1960s with an unusual eight-corned case design. Introduced in 2022, Defy Skyline is one of the series in which the brand displayed its skills in different colors and forms. At Watches and Wonders 2024, the brand added a chronograph to the series and introduced the Defy Skyline Chronograph.
The new Defy Skyline Chronograph is a modern version of the octagonal case of the first Defy models. The 42 mm diameter steel case is designed with a 12-sided bezel. The Defy Skyline Chronograph is a modern interpretation of Defy with its aesthetics while carrying the durable and robust Defy DNA. The sharp lines of the case are accompanied by a crown designed with a Zenith star. Water resistance is 100 meters.
Zenith CEO Benoit says that the starry sky patterned dial of the Defy Skyline Chronograph gives depth to the watch. The series is available in three dial colors: black, blue and silver-gray. The dial is decorated with four-pointed engraved stars and has three sub-dials in the same color. As an El Primero classic, a date window is opened between 4 and 5 o’clock. The 10-second scale of the chronograph measuring 1/10th of a second surrounds the dial.
The Defy Skyline Chronograph is powered by the caliber El Primero 3600. Its high-frequency rate of 5 Hz and has a power reserve of 60 hours.
