Introduced in 1969, the Defy A3648 inspired Zenith novelties at Watches and Wonders 2024. The new diver watch Defy Extreme Diver also takes its inspiration from the A3648.
Introduced in 1969, Defy collection was expanded with diver watches in the same year. One of the most iconic diving watches produced that year was the A3648, which has water resistance to 600 meters. With its bezel and color of dial, this iconic model inspired to two new Zenith models in Watches and Wonders 2024: Defy Revival A3648 Defy Extreme Diver.
Designed in titanium case in 42.5 mm, the watch has water resistant up to 600 meters. (600 meters equals 1969 feet, a reference to the year the A3648 was produced). Titanium case also is highly resistant to corrosion caused by salt water.
The Defy Extreme Diver has been modernized with new touches while retaining Defy’s distinctive angular case and design. The series is available with different dial options: blue or black. The unidirectional ceramic bezels are also available in blue or black. The dial designed with iconic Zenith stars. The date window is at 3 o’clock and the hands and hour markers are coated with SuperLumiNova.
Looking through the open sapphire case back, we see the automatic caliber El Primero 3620-SC. The movement has a power reserve of 60 hours.
