Zenith introduced its novelties from Chronomaster Open and Chronomaster Sport series at Watches and Wonders 2022. While models paying tribute the deep-rooted chronograph history, they also drew attention with their new rose gold cases.
While Julien Tornare, CEO of Zenith, was introducing new models of Chronomaster Sport at Watches and Wonders 2021, he said; “I wanted it to be, as we say in France, “sport chic”, meaning a casual watch you can wear with a suit.” I think, with the new Chronomaster Sport models that introduced in Watches and Wonders 2022, the brand definitely created excellent “sport chic” watches. New Chronomaster Sport models are in 18-carat rose gold cases or cases in which rose gold and steel are harmonized. Rose gold case comes with white or black dials; both dials with sunray pattern. Both dials feature three different colored sub-dials (blue, light gray and dark gray) and a small date window. The rose gold case match with rose gold bezel and rose gold steel bracelet. The model, which blends steel and rose gold, is designed with a sunray patterned gray dial. This version’s bracelet is in pink gold and steel together. Each model is in 41 mm diameter and water resistant up to 100 meters.
The Chronomaster Sports works with in-house automatic chronograph El Primero 3600 1/10, which offers a 60-hour power reserve.
The Chronomaster Open series is renewed both in terms of designed and technical, new versions are rose gold case. The timepieces house the El Primero caliber 3604, which an updated version of the caliber 3600. The movement runs at frequency of 5 Hz and has 60-hour power reserve. (As you might remember, Zenith received the GPHG Chronograph of the Year Award last year with the El Primero caliber 3600.)
The Chronomaster Open watches are in 39.5 mm × 13.1 mm measures and made of stainless steel and rose gold materials. The stainless steel case version features black or silver dial, on the other hand, the rose gold features silver dial. The rose gold version is designed with rose gold indexes. A sub-dial displays movement’s star-shaped silicon escapement wheel at 9 o’clock.
Chronomaster Open and Chronomaster Sports series demonstrate Zenith’s mastery of chronograph and also achieve to raise the bar in sporty-chic.
