Tudor introduced new models from the Black Bay series in Watches and Wonders 2022.
As you might remember, Tudor introduced the Black Bay series in 2012 and since then Black Bay watches has been worn by from heroes who experience extreme conditions to watch enthusiasts. Today, the series show its face once again with the new Black Bay models that introduced in the Watches and Wonders 2022.
Firstly, our eyes have set on the Black Bay Pro series. New watches with GMT function are inspired by the Rolex Explorer II (Ref. 1655) that produced in the early 1970s. The stainless cases of watches are in 39 mm diameter. The bezel is also made from stainless steel. Domed, black dial is applied with yellow details and hour markers in luminous ceramic. The yellow “snowflake” GMT hand is a great match with yellow striped NATO strap or yellow stitched fabric options, as well as retro look with stainless steel bracelet.
New models house a new automatic caliber MT5652, which offers 70-hour power reserve and beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour. With the mechanism that integrated GTM function, local time can be set by a jumping hour, which can be moved either backwards or forwards. So, when setting the time and passing midnight in retrograde, it instantly jumps to the previous day.
Tudor also released the Black Bay GMT series in a reinterpreted looking with steel and gold details. The steel cases in 41 mm diameter are paired with a Root Beer style bezel graduated to 24-hours. Like the Black Bay Pro, this series also comes with three strap alternatives: black fabric with yellow stitching, brown leather strap and steel bracelet. It also features the automatic caliber MT5652.
Let’s talk about Black Bay Chrono. The stainless steel and 18-carat gold cases are in 41 mm diameter. This time, dials are in gold yellow, but the sub-dials are in black. The crown is also in gold yellow. The series offers a black fabric strap option, which is the hallmark of Tudor, and dark brown leather strap or steel bracelet. At the center of the timepiece, there is caliber MT5813 with a power reserve of 70 hours.
And Tudor Royal…
Tudor Royal watches are designed either in gold and steel, and some models’ bezel and dials are decorated with diamonds. Despite plenty of diamonds, Tudor Royal is not a lady watch series. The cases are in 31, 36, 39 and 41 mm. Each model has a mother-of-pearl dial.
