Corum launched its first iconic Admiral model five years after its establishment in 1960. Rene Bannwart, Corum‘s founder, with his uncle Gaston Ries, specially developed this watch for the Admiral’s Cup international regatta, which started in 1957. As is known, René Bannwart has signed some of the most iconic watches of all time with the Corum brand, he was also a successful designer of Omega’s Constellation and Seamaster models before establishing his own brand.
The Corum Admiral model has a characteristic identity recognized from afar with its 12-corner bezel and 12 international maritime flags used in sailing races. Today, we got used to it; however, when it came first time, this model was unique, and it is still unique. Corum to celebrate the 60th anniversary of this sublime Admiral model, announced a series of new Admiral’s watches for modern sailors and watch enthusiast at Watches and Wonders 2021. The star model that put a firm stamp on the fair was undoubtedly the glorious watch was Admiral 45 Automatic Openworked Flying Tourbillon Carbon & Gold. The timepiece is limited to 48 pieces and comes with a brand-new case material for the brand.
The new Admiral model is made of ultra-light carbon layers mixed with 18 karat gold particles that make each watch unique with a different pattern. We are faced with a handsome Admiral from every angle, with a charismatic case and high-tech material, as well as a flying tourbillon with all the details on the dial. Besides, the watch is water resistance at 100 meters.
The CO 298 caliber is an automatic movement that includes a flying tourbillon and was developed by Corum. The Openworked Flying Tourbillon Carbon & Gold watch is integrated with a unique design strap made of gold stitched rubber and synthetic fabrics.
