As partnership of the Olympic Games, Omega announced its new model Speedmaster Chronoscope before Olympic Games Paris 2024.
The victory podium was used for the first time at the winter games, 1932. Jack Shea was the first champion that step on the victory podium, which today is one of the symbols of the Olympic Games.
Shea received two gold medals for speed skates in 1932. That year Omega also became the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games for the first time. Since then, Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. The brand introduced many novelties for the Olympic Games so far. And nowadays it presents a new model for Olympic Games Paris 2024: Speedmaster Chronoscope.
Introduced in 2021 for the first time, Chronoscope was an unexpected but admirable Speedmaster model with its sub-dials and intertwined scales in the center of the dial. Now, Omega introduced a new Chronoscope series for upcoming Olympic Games.
New Speedmaster Chronoscope watches are quietly similar to their predecessors. However, this new series houses new materials: a steel case model with a steel bracelet or leather strap, or a 18k Moonshine gold case with gold bracelet or leather strap. All cases are in 43 mm.
Each model presented in silvery white opalin dial. The blackened sub-dials located at 3 and 9 o’clock, the dial houses Arabic numerals in Moonshine gold and leaf-shaped hands. The most striking aspect of the dial is scales that inspired by 1940’s “snail” design. There are tachymeter scale, pulsometer scale and a telemeter scale. Caseback houses Paris 2024 logo.
Speedmaster Chronoscope watches are powered by the hand-wound caliber 9908/9909. It has a 60-hour power reserve. Announced exactly 100 days before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Speedmaster Chronoscope is expected to go on sale soon.
