Around 40 watch brands will be presenting their latest timepieces at various venues on the shores of Lake Geneva from 29 August to 2 September.
Geneva Watch Days, whose foundations were laid by the brands Breitling, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie., MB&F, Ulysse Nardin and Urwerk, under the leadership of Bulgari, opens its doors for the fourth time this year.
Geneva Watch Days, which emerged as an alternative after the cancellation of Baselworld and Watches & Wonders fairs, which were postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic, is another source of excitement for enthusiasts every year.
Also this year, “What Time is it?” on the Pont de la Machine (Machine Bridge) over the Rhone River, organized by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie. There will also be a photography exhibition titled “What Time Is It?”.
One of the important trump cards of Geneva Watch Days is the interesting conversations to be held with experts from the watch industry, moderated by Wei Koh, the founder of Revolution magazine and Grail Watch company.
First Surprise of the Fair
The first surprise of the fair came from H. Moser & Cie., Geneva Watch Days introduced two new watches for 2023, included in the Endeavor collection: Endeavor Tourbillon Concept Vantablack and Endeavor Center Seconds Vantablack. As it is known, Vantablack is known as the blackest of blacks and the darkest color on earth with a dramatic rate of 99.96% thanks to nanotechnology. Combining rose gold with the darkest black that literally absorbs light, the result is a stunning watch.
The watches are 40mm in diameter, both have 5N rose gold cases and gold hands in the same style. Like a kind of astronomical watch, the Tourbillon model moves endlessly in the dark void of space (we can’t see the dial because our eyes need reflected light to detect what we’re looking at) and has a hypnotic appeal. The Endeavor Center Seconds Vantablack is a stylish and noble watch. Finally, the name of the brand does not appear on the dials, but all the carefully constructed design codes belong to this self-confident brand’s H. Moser & Cie. says it is.
