French designer Philippe Starck bring a new touch to Dior’s iconic Medallion chairs.

The symbol of Louis XVI style and one of the iconic pieces in the Dior portfolio, Medallion chair showed itself once again at Milan Design Week (June 7-12), this time with the touch of French designer Phillippe Starck. Displayed under lights by a cinematic music, the chair seems like a minimal queen throne.

Redesigned by Starck and called “Miss Dior”, the iconic chair draws attention with its feminine touches as well as its minimalist design. The purity of the silhouette is created with Starck’s design perspective as well as durability and simplicity in design. The collection features three main models: twin armrest, with just one armrest or without armrest. Also, colors are available in three options: black chrome, pink copper and gold.

“Some have searched all their lives for the little black dress, I have always dreamed of the perfect little chair. This icon of perfection clearly exists in our collective unconscious, in the form of the Louis XVI Medallion chair and its magic oval, which is one of the symbols of the House of Dior. Everything has always brought me back to this chair”, Phillipe Starck said in a statement.
