Just a few days before the new year, we have brought together the most famous Christmas songs.
The new year has arrived, there are only a few days left until 2024. In this range, there is usually a bet for the music world; either the past year is considered, or New Year’s (let’s say Christmas) songs are spoken, advice is given and listened to. The second one fell to our lot.
There are no Christmas traditions and songs in our country, but we always have people who love and listen to them. Our only consolation (or should we say claim) when it comes to Christmas songs is that, according to a rumor, Santa Claus is from Antalya.
Of course, there are those who like it and those who don’t like it in the West. While some people care deeply about Christmas songs, others find them distant from the real world and fairytale-like. Some people evaluate religion according to their beliefs and customs.
Christmas carols (or Christmas carols) undoubtedly existed before, but until then they were used only as hymns or party songs. Christmas songs first attracted attention in the music industry with the “Elvis’ Christmas Album” recorded by Elvis Presley in 1957. The next move came in 1963, when producer Phil Spector gathered a cast of singers into the studio to record a song. Spector made a Christmas album called “A Christmas Gift For You From Phil Spector” with that lineup. Spector had unknowingly opened an extremely fertile field for the music industry. Over the years, countless artists have created Christmas carols and broken sales records.
Christmas songs have undoubtedly evolved over time according to the direction of music. Because this was, after all, a mainstream, and Christmas songs were produced in whatever genre was mainstream at that time: therefore, Christmas Songs ranged from pop to Rock, from metal to Punk, from Reggae to Indie, from folk to R&B. It ranged from genres to classical and classical music. But mostly it was traditional and generally suitable for the whole family. It must be accepted that Christmas songs are immutable facts of the music world, some of them were really impressive. Seasonally, the timing was also perfect for the industry: holiday songs ended with the holiday, the new season began, and the first break of the new season was celebrated with New Year’s Eve, accompanied by falling snow.
One of the unrivaled names in this regard at the time was Cliff Richard. In later generations, George Michael and Mariah Carey sat on this throne. Although some say the best Christmas song of all time is “The Little Drummer Boy” recorded by David Bowie and Bing Crosby, the debate on this subject has never ended.
