British farmer James Steele lost his Rolex while feeding his cows in the 1970s and never found it again. So that, it reappeared in recent weeks.
Have you ever lost your watch? We hope that you never lose your watches, but if you have lost your watch or any other thing of value, you should not lose your hope. Since there is hopeful story about reappearing of a lost Rolex after 50 years.
According to BBC, 95-year-old British farmer James Steele has been reunited with the Rolex that he lost in 1974. When he was in his early 20s, he bought a Rolex Air-King with the money he earned from selling milk. In those days, he paid about 100 British pounds for this silver Rolex that he wore for years. In 1974, while feeding his cows, Steel lost his Rolex. Even though he looked for Rolex during days, he couldn’t find his watch. So much so that, he thought that a cow ate his Rolex.
Indeed, Steel gave up hope for his lost Rolex, yet life coincidentally brought his watch back to him after 50 years later. The story of how the lost Rolex was found is as follows: When Steele’s son Andrew was a young boy, he found an old coin under a cedar tree on their property. Andrew’s curiosity about local history is piqued when he learns that this coin was a token that the British used for nearly two hundred years due to a shortage of money. Thanks to this curiosity, a detector search on their land in recent weeks has brought back the family’s missing Rolex. The team, searching with a detector for Andrew in search of the precious treasures hidden in their land, found an old watch. Although the team ignored this broken watch, Andrew took it to his father and the Rolex, which disappeared fifty years ago, was reunited with its owner after years. The British farmer recognized his watch at first sight, even though many years had passed. James Steele says he is very happy to have found the watch after so many years and will keep it as a souvenir.
Missing for many years, it is not known whether this Rolex actually passed through the stomach of a cow or ended up in the soil of the farm. However, it can be one of the most interesting lost watch stories.
