Tudor Introduces New Ranger Models
Tudor’s new Ranger watches draw attention with their “Dune” white dials, a hue inspired by desert landscapes.
Presented in this distinctive dial color, the latest Ranger models pay tribute to the brand’s adventurous spirit, spanning from the British North Greenland Expedition of the 1950s to today’s Dakar Rally. Before focusing on the new releases, it is worth revisiting Tudor’s historic Greenland adventure in the early 1950s. At that time, the United Kingdom assembled a team of 30 military personnel and scientists for the British North Greenland Expedition. Among the equipment issued to the team were 26 Tudor Oyster Prince watches. Upon returning from the expedition, one of the members wrote a letter to Tudor, praising the watches for their outstanding performance and noting that they never required manual winding throughout the mission. The spirit of robustness and reliability that continues to define the Ranger line traces its roots back to this very chapter of the brand’s history.
The new Ranger models are introduced in stainless steel cases measuring 36 mm and 39 mm in diameter. Faithful to the collection’s established design codes, the most striking feature at first glance is the new “Dune” white dial. As the official timekeeper of the Dakar Rally, Tudor references the endless desert dunes through this distinctive dial color. The hour markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 are rendered in black Arabic numerals, while the hour and minute hands are finished in the same tone as the dial. A red accent on the tip of the seconds hand provides the most vivid splash of color on the otherwise restrained dial.
The black-dial version follows a similar design language. Here, the Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, and 9 appear in white, complemented by white hour and minute hands. Both dial colors are available in either 36 mm or 39 mm case sizes. The new Ranger models can be paired with a stainless steel bracelet or a green fabric strap.
Powering the 36 mm model is the manufacture Calibre MT5400, while the 39 mm version is equipped with Calibre MT5402. Both COSC-certified movements offer a robust power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
