TAG Heuer has teamed up with Kith to announce a colorful and iconic line for its Formula 1 collection, first announced in 1986: TAG Heuer Formula 1 | Kith.
Colorful and dynamic watches put a smile on our faces as much as the upcoming beautiful summer days. Recently TAG Heuer announced such a watch series: TAG Heuer Formula 1 | Kith. The collection, which is designed by Kith’s founder and fashion designer Ronnie Fieg, is inspired by TAG Heuer’s TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection from 1986.
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection was produced with plastic straps and colorful bezels in black, blue, red and green colors in 1986. The colorful Formula 1 watches with quartz movements became a collector’s item for watch enthusiasts. So much so that, Ronnie Fieg’s own collection story started with a Formula 1 watch. Today, the duo came together to bring the iconic series back to life. TAG Heuer Formula 1 | Kith consists of 10 different models in limited edition.
The new timepieces are designed to retain the original features of the Formula 1 series. For instance, the supplier of the cases at that time was contacted and the same molds were used. The 35 mm diameter cases are accompanied by colored rubber straps (the 1986 series used plastic straps, not rubber).
Another striking feature of the watches is the combination of TAG Heuer and Kith logos. The green box of the red and green TAG Heuer logo reads “KITH”, not “TAG”. The seven watches in the collaboration will be available in Kith stores worldwide. On the other hand, TAG Heuer will introduce two models limited to 825 pieces to watch enthusiasts. These watches are presented in a black PVD case with a black dial and bezels in blue and green colors.
One model shared between TAG Heuer and Kith is a limited-edition of 1350 pieces. The yellow dial is designed with a black bezel with red accents. The vintage look is enhanced with a steel bracelet.
