Patrick Mouratoglou, the coach behind Serena Williams and numerous tennis stars, is illuminating the path for those who, like him, refuse to give up on their dreams.
Some individuals not only achieve greatness themselves but also become guiding lights for others. Patrick Mouratoglou, one of the most influential tennis coaches of the 21st century, is one such figure. A lifelong tennis devotee, the French coach has spent over 25 years transforming the lives—and careers—of players around the globe.
Mouratoglou’s love affair with tennis began at age six, when he first picked up a racket. Though his dream was to become one of the world’s top players, his family steered him toward a more conventional path. He pursued a degree in business, but his passion for tennis never waned. In 1996, at age 26, he founded the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy on the French Riviera, nestled between Cannes and Nice. Today, the academy is one of the most prestigious tennis training centers in the world—a place where his dream continues to inspire the ambitions of others.

“Touching A Star”
Mouratoglou has played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of many rising and established stars. Perhaps most famously, he teamed up with Serena Williams in 2012, a collaboration that resulted in 10 Grand Slam titles and two Olympic gold medals. Today, he continues to work with top talents including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Coco Gauff, Holger Rune, and Alexei Popyrin.
With its main hub in France and additional outposts in Greece, Italy, the U.S., and Indonesia, the Mouratoglou Academy hosts over 5,000 players and 250 full-time students annually—welcoming everyone from budding beginners to elite professionals. What unites the coaching team is a shared belief in Mouratoglou’s core philosophy: an enduring passion for tennis.

A watch aficionado as well, Mouratoglou found a natural partnership in Zenith, becoming a brand ambassador in 2020. He sees his own journey as embodying Zenith’s “Time to Shine” ethos. Though life initially led him away from the court, Mouratoglou reshaped his path to fulfill his original dream—proof that, with persistence, every star is within reach. Today, he keeps track of time—and triumph—with watches whose celestial dials reflect the high precision of both horology and high performance.
