Louis Vuitton 2022 Artycapucines Collection is shaped by six leading names in contemporary art.
Both fashion lovers and art lovers know that there are strong bonds between fashion and art. And Louis Vuitton is one of those brands that mostly designs in collaboration with artists. The fourth part of Artycapucines Collection is also prepared in collaboration with six well-known names from contemporary art.
In the fourth edition of the brand’s artist-signed, limited-edition Artycapucines Collection, the Maison’s timeless classics Capucines bags are used like a canvas and transformed into works of contemporary art by artists Daniel Buren, Kennedy Yanko, Park Seo-bo, Amélie Bertrand, Peter Marino and Ugo Rondinone.
Kennedy Yanko, for instance, crafted the bags using metals to achieve a sculptural look. On the one hand, Ugo Rondinone and Park Seo-Bo preferred to use fabrics and colors that are more traditional and closer to Louis Vuitton design codes.
The Artycapucines Collection, which includes 9 new bag designs that you can keep as a work of art or the most special piece of your wardrobe, is available by October 20. As editors, we can’t help but ask at the end of the almost every fashion article: is art for fashion?
