While Christie’s has focused on the online auctions due to measures of pandemic crisis, the auction house returns to its physical auctions with normalization process nowadays. The sales focus on various disciplines in different centers of Christie’s. While rare pieces of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Pablo Picasso have found their new owners in New York in the past weeks, Paris will be next stop for lovers of art.
The Women in Art auction is the first event of Christie’s that dedicated to women artists. The auction will take place in June 16. The selection, including from oil paintings to photography, from ceramic sculptures to still life paintings, will present more than 100 artworks. Compiling pieces by great names such as Yayoi Kusama, Dora Maar, Edith Piaf, and Etel Adnan, Christie’s will exhibit the works at the auction area in Paris as of June 12.
