Cannes Yachting Festival and Monaco Yacht Show, last held in September 2019, hosted industry professionals and yacht enthusiasts again this year, thanks to the relatively more controlled course of the pandemic and the increase in vaccination.

The stands at yacht fairs were full of the excitement of meeting after a long time and of course the most beautiful boats of the new season. Although there seems to be a two-year recession, we saw with the 2021 autumn fairs that many luxury boats were ordered in this process. After all, the concept of vacation and luxury, which has changed with the pandemic, has pushed everyone to seek a special “island.”

Even though there are disruptions in the supply chain due to the epidemic, the shipyards continue to work at the most intense pace possible.  As of March 2020, when the pandemic was most severe, the industry reached the largest sales volume it has seen since the 2008 crisis. It is even possible to talk about 2020 and 2021 as the “golden years” of the last decade, especially since yacht holidays are the most isolated and controlled type of travel. It is also talked about in the backstage of the fair that many shipyards have filled their capacities 100% until 2024, and that for some boats, boat owners are selling their rows for fancy prices.

First, let’s take a look at the most important event of the superyacht world, the Monaco Yacht Show, where only yachts over 30 meters and the service boats and superyacht toys produced for them. This year, 100 superyachts were exhibited at the fair. While the largest yacht was 95 meters, the average length of all yachts was 49 meters. The 40–50-meter range was the most produced length range. The 600 boats exhibited at the Cannes Yachting Festival, on the other hand, created an environment suitable for analyzing the entire industry, with a wide range of boats from small and modest models to superyachts. The Cannes Yachting Festival was just as festive as its name because the absence of a fair for two years significantly increased the number of new models exhibited.

For both fairs, statements from most brands indicate that strong orders are received. It is not difficult to predict that the yachting world will continue to gain momentum in 2022 in the light of these fairs and information. To give priority to Turkish shipyards, let’s come to the yachts that renewed our excitement from this year’s fairs…

Tatiana took 164th place in the ranking of “the largest yachts in the world”.
