New Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Shooting Star
Have you ever seen a shooting star on a watch dial? Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Rendez-Vous Shooting Star brings this celestial wonder to the wrist.
In 2022, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a captivating new complication to its Rendez-Vous collection, aptly named the “Shooting Star.” Powered by a second mainspring, the mechanism draws energy from the wearer’s wrist movements to animate the shooting star across the dial. Just as one can never predict the precise moment a shooting star will streak across the night sky, the timing of its appearance on the dial remains a delightful mystery.
The latest Rendez-Vous Shooting Star models debut in two distinct references, each limited to just 10 pieces. Both are crafted in 36 mm pink gold cases yet distinguished by the color of their peony-inspired motifs and bracelet designs.

The intricate dial construction consists of three layers. The uppermost layer is crafted from transparent sapphire crystal, upon which peony flowers are hand-painted using a lacquer technique. This layer also conceals the shooting star, ready to appear in a fleeting moment. Beneath it, a brushed finish in varying shades of blue evokes a star-studded night sky, while the open circle at the dial’s centre is adorned with diamonds. The bezels of both models are fully set with diamonds; their brilliance echoed on the pink gold cases.

The version featuring pink peonies is paired with a matching pink gold bracelet, while the blue-peony model is complemented by an alligator leather strap.

At the heart of the Rendez-Vous Shooting Star beats the in-house Calibre 734, offering a 70-hour power reserve. In addition to hours and minutes, it powers the enchanting shooting star complication visible on the dial — a poetic encounter between timekeeping and the wonders of the cosmos.
